SMP Europe

The Women Automotive Network is a community of over 25,000 professionals from across all disciplines of the industry, whose mission is to promote & support diversity in automotive.

On Wednesday 7th June at Automechanika in Birmingham SMP Europe was proud to have three key members of staff in attendance, to represent all of our female workforce both in the UK and Poland. Leanne, Alanna and Justyna enjoyed a successful event, alongside other industry professionals for a drinks reception, to connect, inspire, and empower women in the industry.

Leanne said; “It was great to have the opportunity to interact with other women from the industry. It’s no secret that we work in a very male dominated environment, but its fantastic to see the work that the Women Automotive Network are doing, and also to speak to women who have achieved success in a number of different automotive related roles. All three of us are looking forward to more opportunities to get involved with Women Automotive Network, and get more of the female staff from SMP Europe involved.”

Over the three days of Automechanika Birmingham, we have had 10 members of our female workforce represent SMP Europe on our stand, across a range of departments within the company. With 60 female staff members in Nottingham, there is a 50/50 balance between male and female staff at our UK headquarters. In Poland, the company employs 72 female and 44 male staff.

SMP Europe are proud to champion diversity within our industry, and recognise the key role that all staff have in our successes. We look forward to being able to continue to support the Women Automotive Network in future events, and provide the opportunity for our female staff to benefit from the continued work of the network.
